During his 1968 "campaign", Paulsen uttered what is still probably the single funniest thing that I have ever heard a comedian say: "There is one issue that must be addressed very forthrightly, very frankly, and very adultly. That issue is, of course, S - E - X." Rlquall 03:11, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

I recall his old routine on the Smothers Brothers show of giving a bogus "op-ed" piece and saying: "And I have to conclude that mumble mumble mumble mumble ......... heh!"

He did an appearance on a GET SMART episode as a villain, a takeoff on THE LIST OF ADRIAN MESSENGER titled THE MESS OF ADRIAN LISTENGER. At the end Max Smart finds out that Paulsen was really the villain but had changed his appearance. Paulsen explains: "Plastic surgery."

"They did a lousy job."

"Did it myself."

Pat Paulsen for President forever ... he lives on in our hearts and minds.

[edit] Presidential campaigns

This article could use more details about his Presidential campaigns. For instance, I just learned from reading Stephen Colbert presidential campaign, 2008 that Paulsen apparently received more than 200,000 votes during the 1968 campaign. Holy crap! (as Frank Barone would say). Cgingold 08:04, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
