[edit] Petition

This doesn't belong within the article, but there is a petition on the Downing Street website for John Wagner to be given a knighthood. [1]

[edit] Misty

Pat Mills also was editorially responsible for the creation of Misty (comics) - need to add this in at some point. I think this was before working on the launch of 2000AD but I'll confirm the details before adding it. Jenniscott (talk) 12:40, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

I had a look through Thrill Power Overload and it says he successfully piloted Battle and Action to their launch but doesn't mention his input on Misty (although that doesn't mean he didn't). The only mention of Misty in the index is about Malcolm Shaw who did good work on Misty but he didn't live up to that when you came over to 2000 AD (although since he died of cancer soon after perhaps they hadn't given him a chance!!). Pat's said in his CAPTION2005 interview that he created Misty, and I think it was also covered in the Comics Britannia ep on Girls & boys' comics - but need to dig out my references first. Pat's spoken highly of Malcolm Shaw and thinks he's likely to be the writer of a number of the more mystical/hippy/green stories in Jinty, but that will be a lot harder to get to the bottom of if true... Yes attribution is a bugger for some of those titles although there have been efforts to pin things down in some areas (the one I know about is Starblazer where a lot of work has been done). (Emperor (talk) 18:15, 21 May 2008 (UTC))
