Patterson Mill Middle and High School (PMMHS), is the newest high school in Harford County, Maryland. Built for $50 million, the 226,000 sq ft building is a state of the art school that includes a television studio, a mass communications lab for a radio station, and a graphics and visual communications area.[2]

[edit] About the School
The school is located in central Harford County just east of Maryland Route 924 on Patterson Mill Road. The school district for Patterson Mill Middle & High School borders the districts of Bel Air High School, Edgewood High School, and C. Milton Wright High School. Each room in the school includes a 44-inch flat screen plasma television in which students receive their announcements from the television studio. Each room also includes four computers, and the school overall has a laptop for every 1½ students. The school includes a professional grade cooking lab and a cafeteria that seats 500 with both tables and booths.

The building is split into 12 sections - A,B,C,D,E1,F1,G1,H,J,E2,F2,and G2.
"A" section houses the Auditorium and Stage area.
"B" Section houses all administration offices, as well as the physical education areas for High school students only.
"C" Section houses Physical Education Offices, as well as Middle School phys. ed. areas, and all locker rooms.
"D" Section houses the cafeteria and Foundations of Technology rooms, as well as the janitorial closests.
"E1" Section houses all 8th grade middle school students.
"F1" Section houses all 7th grade middle school students.
"G1" Section houses all 6th grade middle school Students.
"H" Section houses all fine arts classes and the mass communications lab/TV studio.
"J" Section houses all food preparation classes and the media center area.
"E2" Section houses all high school English and drama classes, as well as foreign language classes.
"F2" Section houses all high school math classes and advanced computer technology classes.
"G2" Section houses all high school social studies classes.
Sections E1, F1, G1, E2, F2, and G2 each have seven instructional classrooms as well as two science classrooms.

The school currently houses approximately 1,000 students in sixth through tenth grades. The first graduating class from Patterson Mill will be the class of 2010.
[edit] Sports
Not all sports field varsity teams for the 2007-–2008 school year because, at the moment, there are only freshmen and sophomores attending. Some sports with varsity teams during the 2007-2008 school year include cross country, track and field, tennis, swimming, and golf. In addition to these sports, some wrestling matches are competed at the varsity level, but most are competed at the junior varsity level.
The sports offered at Patterson Mill include baseball, boys' and girls' basketball, boys' and girls' lacrosse, boys' and girls' soccer, boys' and girls' volleyball, cheerleading, cross-country, field hockey, football, golf, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, and wrestling.
