Patrick "Spaz" Spaziante

Patrick "Spaz" Spaziante is a penciler and cover artist for Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog (comic series) and Sonic X (comics). Spaziante also has illustrated for Dreamwave Productions, Marvel Comics, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles children books, as well as Nickelodeon's Avatar.

Patrick Spaziante practiced penciling informally, but started majoring in "Film Studies" while attending art college. After breaking into the comic industry, Spaziante worked as a production artist at Archie Comics, and later pursued penciling and becoming a production artist for the Sonic the Hedgehog (comic series). Spaziante's first appearance in the Sonic Comic was in the first 48 page special of the Sonic the Hedgehog (comic series), Sonic The Hedgehog: In Your Face! #1 - December 1994, where Spaziante produced two full page illustrations, and a two page story.


Spaziante also worked on Marvel Comics Marvel in Muties #2, a series dedicated for up and coming artists.

Spaziante currently works with Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic X comic series. Spaziante had also illustrated for Dreamwave Productions, Marvel Comics, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles children books, and worked on Nickelodeon's Avatar: The Last Airbender as well.

Spaziante has branched out from his successful stint at Archie, working with Marvel Comics' Muties issue #2, a series dedicated to up-and-coming comic artists.

He has recently released a popular sketchbook, showcasing his wide array of illustrations, which have been available at various comic book conventions.
