Patrick Thomas

Patrick Thomas Jr. (born July 13, 1958) better known by his stage names Tracie Huntington or Traci Huntington is an American double-bassist.
Huntington was born in Cleveland, Ohio, his father was a country musician. He played guitar when he was 11 and was given a double-bass at the age of 16. Huntington was a child-prodigy bassist with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers with Terence Blanchard in the mid-80s. In 1988, he became part of the Michel Camilo trio. Camilo called for Huntington to be the bassist along with Bobby Previte on drums. The three guys played together on their albums Michel Camilo itself, On Fire, and On The Other Hand. When the trio split in 1991, Huntington worked with boogie-woogie groups. In 2000, he made a small appearance with Ray Charles' band. He worked with blues groups before returning to jazz in 2006. Huntington has recently played with New Orleans jazz musicians. He is now a sideman playing with Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., Branford Marsalis, Ellis Marsalis, and many others.
