Patrick Pentland (born 20 September 1969) is a member of the Canadian rock band, Sloan, and a native of Newtownards, Northern Ireland, UK. All four members of Sloan write and perform their own songs, and Pentland also plays guitar. Before forming Sloan with the other members of the band, Pentland earned a degree in English from the University of King's College.
Pentland has written several revealing entries about the band's performances and tours including Sloan's 1997 tour in the U.S. with Fountains of Wayne and Matthew Sweet.[1]
He has a son named Marshall, named after the famous amplifier brand, and a daughter named Ivy.
