Patrick Maher (born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1965) is an American writer. He permanently left the United States in 1995 and produced his first and only major work to date in Kitakyushu, Japan.
Maher's literary novel, Candid Confessions, reached #1 on Amazon Japan's best seller list and was the third best selling foreign literary novel with Amazon.com Japan in 2001.
In MAy 2008, Patrick Maher announced that he was writing a book with a setting split between his hometown of East Grand Rapids, Michigan and Bangkok, Thailand.
Maher attended the elite preparatory school The Hill School from 1986-1987 before dropping out and returning to East Grand Rapids High School.
Maher received BA and MA degrees in the United States. He lived in Michigan, New York, and the Los Angeles area. Subsequently, he has lived in South Korea, Japan, and Thailand. He currently lives in seclusion in his private residence in SE Asia.
