Patrick Henry High School was built in 1960 and named after the patriotic leader Patrick Henry.

During the 1980s, Patrick Henry competed in the Highlands District before moving to the Hogoheegee District in 1989, due to low enrollment. On March 5, 2008, Mike Compton was named the new head football coach.[1]
