Financial software industry guru. From a career in banking which started with Midland Bank in 1963 Hayward moved into software via Arthur Young Management Services and in 1983 became the international marketing and sales entrepreneur for upstart Chicago based software company Internet Systems Corporation. Founder, Paul Rachal, commented in Banking Technology that "with Hayward the company had the ability to become the premiere supplier of software to the international banking community" which it acheieved within 6 years of start up. Tom Perkins, Chairman and lead investor said in The Banker"that Hayward's ability in getting a global deal with Deutsche Bank within 6 months of commencement was an outstanding achievement". Hayward was born in Hampshire, England in 1947 and was educated at Barton Peveril Grammar School, before getting his banking qualifications through Southampton Institute. His banking career took him to many corners of the world reported The Daily Echo. Among his team's many achievements at Internet was the largest software deal ever undertaken by a Japanese Company with a western company reported Banking Technology. Similar large deals were achieved and reported in International Banking Systems in China, Russia, Latin America as well as across Europe and North America. Since retiring from Internet he has held short term positions with London Bridge Software (now Fair Isaacs) and GoldenSource as well as working with many new start ups.
