[edit] Biography

[edit] Early life

Elyas was born in Los Angeles, California where he also grew up. He attended Notre Dame Academy Elementary School which was across the street from his home. He attended NDAE from Kindergarten to 8th grade. In the 4th grade, he befriended transfer students Gregory Kim and Randall Ang. Patrick, Greg, and Randall ran for student council in 7th grade and became vice-president, president, and treasurer, respectively.

[edit] Early Life successes

After a brief skirmish involving improper dress code at a colloquial award ceremony in the spring of their 8th grade year, Greg was taken off of the Student Council President position, which was then handed down to the next-in-line candidate, the vice president Patrick Elyas. Patrick assumed the position unofficially for the remainder of the school year. Greg and Patrick were still on "OK" terms.

[edit] High school years

Patrick entered Loyola High School in Los Angeles in the 9th grade. His achievements there include the 2nd highest SAT score of the school, Cum Laude, he is an avid member of the Varsity Debate Team (considered by many to be a master debater), Mock Trial, Student Council, and The Loyalist, the school's monthly publication.

[edit] Early work

After Patrick's uncle saw an advertisement on an Egyptian television station searching for a 12 year old Arabic boy to play a part in an up and coming movie, Patrick auditioned for the part of Aden in Young Black Stallion (2003). For his youthful charm and celebrity-like smile, the casting directors immediately chose to cast him for the part, and Patrick left school for almost 3 weeks to film in places around South Africa. Despite his striking looks, Patrick had his voice re-taped by another child actor because of its "Arabic-ness". Disney casted a white film actor Eric Grucza (Picture:http://www.youngartistawards.org/winners/AlexGould.jpg) for the voice-over part, for which he later won a Young Artist Award for Best Voice-Over1. Patrick has been vehemently angry about that and also is irked by the fact that Amazon.com has listed his name on the Young Black Stallion movie page as Patrick "Elias", as in the television show "Alias", instead of his real last name, "Elyas"²

[edit] 2007 - present

Patrick is currently a senior at Loyola High School in Los Angeles, California. Over the summer of 2007, he, together with his long-time friend Gregory Kim, are filming a web mini-series which they plan to upload on the internet. The series will be about a handful of teenagers in Los Angeles and will be called Beverly Dr, named after a street on which the two often convened growing up.

Furthermore, Elyas plans to attend the prestigious, most notable social Ivy the University of Pennsylvania.

[edit] Personal interests and hobbies

Patrick enjoys playing golf with neighbor Michael Gerski on his free days. He often goes to Century City Shopping Center to watch movies at the AMC Theater. Whenever he has time, he also takes on the challenge of memorizing state capitals and countries of the world. Patrick also enjoys watching The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, "Dirty, Sexy, Money, and Entourage, where he learns most of his "hip" phrases from. Patrick enjoys traveling around the world. He has been to many places around the world: Namibia, Egypt, Spain, South Africa, Italy, France, Russia, and Estonia.
