Patrick Castagne

Patrick Stanislaus Castagne (better known as Pat) was born on October 3rd, 1916 in Guyana, then moved to Trinidad when he was young. He went to St Mary's College and furthered his education in the United Kingdom. He composed the national anthem for Trinidad and Tobago in 1962, Forged from the Love of Liberty. He composed other songs as well. He was married to Lucille and had five children, Dianne, Alan, Glenn, Christopher, Michael and Gregory. He died in 2000 from heart failure.
