Patricia Lake (June 18, 1923—October 3, 1993), was reportedly the daughter of actress Marion Davies and William Randolph Hearst, and was the mother of actress Mary Collins. Prior to Lake's death, Lake was thought to be the daughter of Rosemary Davies (Marion's sister) and her first husband, George Van Cleeve. After her death in 1993, Lake's family announced that she was actually the daughter of Davies and Hearst, born during a trip the famous pair took to France in 1923.
Although the claim does not appear to have been verified independently, Lake and her husband — actor Arthur Lake, who played Dagwood in numerous Blondie films — were buried beside Marion Davies in the Douras family mausoleum along with Marion’s husband Horace Brown, and her mother Rose.
Collins, daughter of Patricia and Arthur Lake, appeared in the documentary Captured on Film: The True Story of Marion Davies which premiered on Turner Classic Movies on February 14, 2001. Archive footage of Patricia Lake was also included in the documentary.
