Patricia Collarbone

Dame Dr. Patricia "Pat" Collarbone, DBE, Ed.D, MBA, Hons BA, FRSA, is the Director of the London Leadership Centre at the Institute of Education, University of London, which she founded in 1996 as well as Manager of the National Professional Qualification for Headship London Regional Assessment Centre. She was knighted on 31 December 1997 in the New Years Honours for her services to education.

Collarbone taught for 28 years in Inner London and established a reputation for innovation and achievement during her headship at Haggerston School in Hackney. She frequently delivers presentations on leadership development and remodelling at national and international conferences.

In September 2002, Pat Collarbone was seconded from the Institute of Education as Director of Leadership Development Programmes at the National College for School Leadership (NCSL), a post she held until December 2004. She was a Director of NCSL and the Director of the National Remodelling Team within NCSL until March 2005, when the NRT transferred to the TDA.

During her time as Director of NCSL she oversaw the development of a number of leadership programmes, including Consultant Leaders and National Professional Qualification in Integrated Centre Leadership. She remained the Director of the NRT until March 2006, when it was fully integrated within the TDA and became TDA Development. She is now Executive Director of TDA Development, though still seconded from the Institute of Education.
