Southern end of the bridge right now terminates at a raised platform, connected to ground with stairs. Bridge is to be extended south-east, first as a skywalk over demolished Bersenevka territory, than over Vodootvodny Canal into Yakimanka mainland. As of January 2007, work is underway to demolish the remainder of industrial properties in the path of construction, at the same time driving piles for the foundations where possible. Construction is due to complete in 2007. [2]
