[edit] History
The origins of Paterson Silk Sox are unknown. However, they originally were known as Paterson F.C.[1] In 1917, Paterson joined the National Association Football League, winning the 1917-1918 championship. When several teams from the NAFBL left the league in 1921 to form the American Soccer League, Paterson did not join them. A year later, it entered the league for a single season, 1922-1923. Following the season, it was purchased by new owners who moved the team to New York and renamed it the New York Giants.
