[edit] High school career

As a 5 foot 8 inch 160 pound freshman kicker/punter at Wossman High School, Williams broke his leg, enabling him to gain 80 pounds over one year.[citation needed] As a sophomore, he stood at 5 foot 11 inches, weighing in at 240, which led to the nickname "Fat Pat," given to him by Wossman High School assistant head coach James Egeberg.[citation needed] Williams went on to have an unbelievable high school career, compiling 43 sacks, 154 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, 8 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, and 3 defensive touchdowns.[citation needed]
