Pat Calpin aka: "Rick Fondlepatch", or simply "Mr. F", has been in United States-based ska band Catch 22 since before the release of the album Alone in a Crowd. He began playing guitar when he was 12 years old. He has played other instruments such as the bass guitar, and saxophone. In 1998, he joined Catch 22 as the bassist, but was soon to become the guitarist of the band. Calpin uses the traditional guitar strumming technique of ska strumming, but also uses a rock feel as well. He also incorporates other different, more advanced techniques, such as solos, finger plucking, tapping and others that set him apart from Tomas Kalnoky, former guitarist. Calpin has co-created "Chin Up" from Dinosaur Sounds, "Bad Party" from Permanent Revolution, and "Lamont's Lament" from Dinosaur Sounds, among other tracks. Pat lives in Califon, New Jersey with his wife Jennifer and has two siblings. On his off time he runs a woodworking and cabinetry shop with his brother and father.
