Yes, you have found the UserPage of Pastordavid. As my username would suggest, I am indeed an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. I try to avoid situations where I am likely to encounter undue conflict of interest due to this role, and invite you to drop me a note if you have questions about my editing.
I am also an administrator on the English Wikipedia. You can read my request for adminship, and also use the links below to see my administrative work. If you have questions about my work as a an administrator, please leave a note on my talk page. If your concerns cannot be resolved through conversation with me, you are welcome to either talk to another administrator or file a request for comment on my edits and behavior.

[edit] More about me
Well, you have made it past my opening comments, so I can only assume that you are interested in learning more about who I am. And wouldn't I be a rude host if I did not oblige your curiousity?
Currently, I reside in the state of Texas, although I have lived in many other areas of the country as well and am only recently a Texan. I have studied theology at the University of the South, Roanoke College, and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. Like most Lutheran pastors, I earned a Master of Divinity degree; in addition I did some further advanced studies.
As far as my editorial interests, I tend to haunt some of the topics that you would expect. I started the Lutheranism WikiProject, seeing a need to coordinate the editing of topics related to Lutheranism. Because of my passion of Christian history, I have also been involved with WikiProject Saints - which has proven to be quite the interesting endeavor for someone whose entire background and training is in a Protestant tradition.
Other places you will find me is floating around articles about obscure theological concepts and little-known theologians. I especially have a passion for, and a research background in, Liturgical and Sacramental theology. Occassionally dabble in Denmark-related articles, especially articles related to Danish Lutheranism and Danish-Americans. I also have been known to help out with the dispute resolution process, especially by providing third opinions and requests for editor assistance.
[edit] How I edit
There was recently a discussion on my talk page about the Pastor David School of Editing. This came about because a certain editor had been observing my edits, and was interested in discussing the principles that drive my activities here at Wikipedia. Tip of the Hat to Merzul for your kind words. In a nutshell, here it is:
- In content discussions, never comment on another editor's behavior or character, only the content.
- Humbly state your well-sourced opinion, but don't force the issue.
- If consensus is against you, find something else to write about.
- Be civil, friendly, and have fun editing.
In short, I take the broadest understanding of the assumption of good faith, and attempt at all times to behave in a manner that others will perceive as civil and friendly. Quite frankly, Wikipedia is a hobby and should be fun - not stressful and aggrevating.
