Talk:Passive hydroponics
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a very poorly written advert for a technique which is not novel in the slightest. I've come across the website 'FirstTrays' before, and was annoyed enough by it off Wikipedia! --BarryNorton 19:50, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
- Further, 'semi-hydroponics' though trademarked, is a misnomer. This is nothing more than a passive hydroponic technique. Many novel and distinct hydroponic techniques (DWC, NFT, Flood and Drain) do not get their own pages, yet we devote one to advertising these trademarked commercial products... --BarryNorton 11:28, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- Please do anything you want with this article. I'm done.

- No one had touched this for a year and it was tagged with improvement needed, so I moved it to Hydroponics for orchid cultivation and removed all commercial references and spurious patent information. BarryNorton 22:00, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Article quality
I have a feeling this does not need it's own article. I'd say that this should be merged with Hydroponics, but I don't see much info here of encyclopedic value. In fact, I am positive that this entire article is in violation of WP:NOT#HOWTO. Any ideas?? Merge? Delete?--Vlmastra 03:41, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, and the quality of writing is low.--Vlmastra 03:42, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
I reverted Template:How to I don´t now how to change the article so it complies with Wikipedia´s rules. How describe the method in other way ? --jmak 07:56, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- I am reinstating the template and will further point out the complete lack of reliable sources. If you want to write instructional material, see Wikibooks. This is not the place for how-to guides. I also wonder whether reverting the template on your own article does not represent a conflict of interest...
- I still feel this would be better placed in the hydroponics article.--♦♦♦Vlmastra♦♦♦ (talk) 04:08, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

- I've completely overhauled the article, deciding that the method does deserve its own article, and expanding the topic to include all applicable plants.--♦♦♦Vlmastra♦♦♦ (talk) 05:24, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
