This article was nominated for deletion in the past. The result of the discussion was keep.

I removed the citation that was added for this sentence, as it didn't actually support it; it was nothing but a reference in an editorial in the lower case. It had no statistics, no comments as to prevalence. And as was mentioned in the above-linked AFD discussion, "passion pop" is a generic term, so there is no reason to think this lower case reference was even to the branded product. Plastic stoppers as used with Passion pop have been available and used before passion pop came on the market. A precursor that was sold in the 1960's was called "Porphory Pearl" It was also popular at Uni dances and balls.
