[edit] Merge with Pass?

Do we really need separate articles for the noun and verb forms? Jordan Brown 18:59, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

It has just been split for reasons that were discussed at Talk:Passing (sociology), which used to be here at Talk:Passing before a page move. The section was extended while still part of Pass in preparation for its move to Passing and has been further extended since. I think that some of the people involved would be quite upset if there wasn't a disambig page at Passing. The remaining page at Pass, along with the disambig at Passing off could both potentially be merged into Passing. Pass and Passing off would then become redirections. --AliceJMarkham 23:31, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
On second thoughts, I've reverted Passing and Pass to prior to the split, and replicated the only addition that I had made. Passing is now a redirect to Pass. --AliceJMarkham 23:50, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks... the arrangement of the various pages looks good.

Note that Passing off links to Passing (race), but Pass and Passing (sociology) link to Passing (racial identity). Suggest changing Passing off to refer to Passing (racial identity).

Pass needs some MoS:DP#Individual entries cleanup, but that can wait until the dust settles around the page moves. (I'm happy to help with it.) Jordan Brown 01:03, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I've removed the two "Passing" entries from the Passing off page. I previously corrected them from 'Passing off' to 'Passing' and in context they really didn't belong there.
I'm thinking that the Passing off disambig is redundant and could be deleted and the Passing off (legal term) page could move back where it came from. Apply MoS:DP to Passing off fully and you'd be left with a link to the Passing off (legal term) page and possibly the link to Pass. It would then meet WP:SPEEDY!
As long as the block of Passing (sociology) and related subsections is left intact, I doubt that anyone involved in that area will complain about a good cleanup of the page. It does need to be cleaned up to make it more compact. --AliceJMarkham 02:51, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Let's take this over to Pass where the meat is now. Jordan Brown 03:35, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
