Pastrami on rye

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pastrami on rye is a sandwich of pastrami on rye bread. It is considered a classic New York sandwich, often found in delis[1], where it is considered a quality benchmark[2]. Carnegie Deli and Katz's Delicatessen are notable vendors of the sandwich. This sandwich can be created by melting on a griddle organic rye bread, swiss cheese slices, sauerkraut, and a sauce comprised of Goddess Salad Dressing and Ketchup. It can be served with pickles and extra dressing-ketchup sauce, if desired.
