Past & Present (ISSN 00312746) is a British historical journal published four times a year by Oxford University Press on behalf of the Past and Present Society. It was founded in 1952 by a number of historians associated with the Communist Party Historians Group, including E. P. Thompson, and was a leading force in the development of social history.
