The Bolinhos de Bacalhau (name in the North of Portugal and Brazil) or Pastéis de Bacalhau (name in the South, particularly the Lisbon area): literally "Codfish cakes", are a typical dish made up of potatoes, dry salted codfish, eggs, parsley, and some minor ingredients. The Bolinhos or Pastéis de Bacalhau are fried and served before meals, are considered a delicacy and are eaten on special occasions.
