Passion Week

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In traditional Roman Catholicism and Anglicanism, Passion Week is the week beginning at the Fifth Sunday in Lent, or Passion Sunday. It immediately precedes Holy Week. However, in churches which use contemporary liturgical calendars, "Passion Sunday" has become an alternative name for Palm Sunday, and Passion Week is used to refer to Holy Week. In such churches, the old Passion Week is now simply known as the fifth week in Lent, and its Sunday as "the Fifth Sunday in Lent".
