Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Jamie, I am not adding inappropriate links and I'd appreciate it if you'd stop removing my links. The link that I am adding is what the article is about and simply makes it easier for users to access the site. The site (if it even matters since you seem to not care about the free programs), although it sells the programs for money, runs as a not for profit organization and is only there to assist students. I do not understand why you would be so against such a site, especially when the article is all about it. Try checking Microsoft’s wiki, I'm sure there is a link to Microsoft’s website. Just because they sell something for money does not make it bad to have a link there, sometimes links are helpful. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Parker Curtis (talk • contribs).
- I still think it's spam, but you're welcome to post a question to the talk page of the SAT article to see if anyone else thinks that the link is appropriate. OhNoitsJamie Talk 04:18, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
It is not the SAT page, it is the SAT Calculator Program page that I have a problem with. Why would you feel that SAT OS is not spam while the link to www.highersat.com is? SAT OS was thrown in at the end of the article and barely makes sense there, so if anything is link spam it is clearly done by the author of SAT OS (possibly you?). Highersat is what the entire article is about, so it makes sense to be there. Why don't you take a poll since you seem better than me, to see if you should remove my link before rudely removing an appropriate link and replacing inappropriate links? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Parker Curtis (talk • contribs).
- I'm not really sure what you're talking about. My point is that there seems to be a campaign to advertise the highersat site here, and I feel that it's spam. If you can argue that the link meets guidelines in WP:EL and WP:SPAM, feel free to argue those points in the talk pages for those articles. OhNoitsJamie Talk 04:55, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
