Hello --

I am involved with another wiki project: Wikinvest, an investing wiki. Check it out!

Wikinvest is part of the interwiki map, which means you can link to a Wikinvest article from any other project by typing [[Wikinvest:Ticker]], where "ticker" is the company's ticker symbol. Most company names will work as well in place of a ticker symbol, but the ticker symbol is more reliable.

Before Wikinvest, I used to work at Amgen.

[edit] Disclosure

Occasionally, when I think it could benefit the project, I will suggest links to relevant articles on Wikinvest. Given my affiliation with Wikinvest, I always excercise great caution when doing so, in accordance with the guideline on conflicts of interest. This usually means (in brief):

[edit] Why would a Wikipedia article link to Wikinvest?

Wikinvest is precisely the kind of linking the interwiki map was created for - complimentary articles on a topic existing on different wiki projects. For example, articles about companies on Wikipedia tend to focus on a company from a cultural / encyclopedic perspective rather than an investment one. Investors care about market share, about commercial strategy and commercial partners, about earnings and revenue and where they come from, about how the company's performance compares to that of competitors - information which generally isn't included in Wikipedia articles on companies. After all, Wikipedia is not a place for investment research. However, some (but not all) Wikipedia users will be looking for this kind of information, and referencing Wikinvest articles is a way to direct them to where it can be found.

Therefore, Wikinvest articles are complimentary but not duplicative of wikipedia content, making an interwiki relationship a perfect fit in my view.
