[edit] Editing versus vandalism

I've reverted to an earlier version to undo the deletion of content that is of great interest to a large number of Sharma's readers. The descriptions are review quotes etc, and references can be added.
I'm quite aware of the importance of maintaining a NPOV but this can be obtained through careful editing without destroying information.
Buckles's deletion is nothing more than over-zealous vandalism. Edit, re-word but don't needlesly destroy.--Kastellan 11:01, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

HI there. You may wish to familiarize yourself with WP:NPOV and WP:CITE, both of which this article was in gross violation of (some sections still are). WP:VANDAL may be of assistance in determining which actions constitute vandalism. MarkBuckles (talk) 10:16, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV tag

I've copyedited some of this article and removed obvious violations of WP:NPOV from the beginning. Here's an example:

"A gifted writer, Sharma covers a wide range of subjects and perspectives, and as a master craftsman delivers intricate ideas simply. Like Mahatma Gandhi, the subject of one of Sharma’s most applauded plays “Sammy!” Sharma found that uncovering the truth was not always popular."

I've tagged the works section as another violation of WP:NPOV. Here is some of the text:

"An enchanting story about what we all value and seek in life – love, trust, friendship and peace."
"a good, old fashioned, refreshing story book "
"Interestingly enough, now, twenty years later, this book provides a fascinating insight into the mind of terrorists."

If these sections could be rewritten, we might be able to salvage this content; as they are I don't think they're fit for the encyclopedia. MarkBuckles (talk) 00:41, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:PartapSharma BegumSumroo.jpg

Image:PartapSharma BegumSumroo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:16, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
