Talk:Parkdale, Toronto

bounded on the west by Roncesvalles Avenue Although I understand what is trying to be said, this is sort of a geographical impossibility. Roncesvalles *ends* at Queen... hmm.... Krupo 06:24, Oct 3, 2004 (UTC)
"and former old dive hotels The Drake and The Gladstone being recently bought out and renovated to attract the arts community"
"on the east by Dufferin Street"
The Drake and the Gladstone are actually east of Dufferin St., making the whole issue of "Where is Parkdale?" that much more confusing. Most would classify those hotels as "West Queen West", but the character of Parkdale is changing, so I don't really have a suggestion here. Pyrotix 04:06, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
^ I'd allow it on the basis that neighbourhood boundaries are rough designations, and tend to overlap.
[edit] Boundaries
The boundaries of the old Parkdale village still fit. I have indicated those in the article. Since the Parkdale Station was at Gladstone and Queen that intersection should be included in the boundaries of Parkdale, and that would include the Gladstone Hotel, but not the Drake. While most people who live along Roncesvalles consider this to be Roncesvalles Village, there is no exact division, it overlaps certainly. A proper map graphic is sorely needed.
