[edit] promotion

This article had been taken over by companies trying to sell pareos. I cleaned up the article and removed all the commercial cruft. There's not much left. Pictures are very much needed. Zora 23:23, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

I had no problems with [ [Image:girls-front.jpg] ], it was not from a clothing company. --Tauʻolunga 06:52, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Hmm, went to look at the picture. It's from one of the companies that was trying to use this article as promotion, which is why I removed it. I see that they're made it freely available ... but I still don't like it. The photos seem to be beautiful girl + beautiful scenery, and it's impossible to see just how the pareos are draped, which I would think was the whole point.

I should browse Flickr and see if there are any CC photos that will do. Zora 07:22, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pareo research

I am researching the history of textiles in Tahiti and the Pareo in particular. Can anyone recommend any scholarly publications or archives that might have information about the trade history of this cloth? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JamilaK (talkcontribs) 04:37, 9 January 2007 (UTC).

Very little, but then I have not seen everything. Already tried the Dossiers Tahitiens? (Société des Océanistes or Nouvelles editions Latines 1, Rue Palatine, Paris) --Tauʻolunga 06:54, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
