Talk:Pardee Homes

Dougmann seems dedicated to writing an emotionally charged opinion in a section called Business Practices. Perhaps he is an ex-employee or has some other axe to grind, but this is not the place to vent it. 130.94.134.146 18:28, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Let's discuss the content of this article. It definitely deserves to be edited, but removing most of the content is not the way to go about it. It is under cited, for example. It might be more productive to suggest improvements, and expand the content, reordering etc., rather than clear cutting large sections. And, please register and sign your talk comments. I have requested that unregistered users be blocked from editing any further. Dougmann 19:48, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
He/she is probably right in that an edit not blank approach is needed, though his/her reasons for requesting protection are highly suspect given what I have unearthed. This company is not well known, and it would be difficult to come up with a whole new article in a reasonable time frame, as such we need to fix this article, working the current content - but deleting the falsehoods, spin and weasel words. It will be a lot shorter, but I think it is the only reasonable approach if the goal is have an article at all. 24.7.91.244 22:40, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
I know Dougmann is guilty of some biased editing, such as claiming Livermore was in Silicon Valley, or repeated attempts to get Pardee added to notable developers in another article. If this was a Livermore employee, and as we know that office failed (where others had done so repeatedly) and closed, there may be something there. 24.7.91.244 22:08, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] This article is the victim of biased spin doctoring

I believe User_talk:Dougmann is also User_talk:Gabre 36, and was also User:68.68.234.131

All of which show the same pattern of single purpose editing on Pardee, suppression of anything negative, lying (claiming in an edit summary that a lawsuit deleted was a generic industry one which was specific to Pardee Homes). There is nothing inherently wrong about adding content for a company you work for or own (after all such a person would obviously are an authority on it), but it is best to say who you are to avoid suspicions and appearances of bias - as people have a hard time assuming good faith when they find you are with a company but hid that little detail - especially when the editing shows a pattern of bias.

Anyway what initially put me on to this little fiefdom in Wiki-Pardee Homes was when I was trying to figure out how the conventionally held understanding of San Francisco Bay Area geography got so turned on it's head by someone claiming Livermore was in Silicon Valley, in the Silicon Valley article. Initially I joked on that talk page that only a realtor could make such a claim. After looking into it some more, I found out I was wrong, but only barely. I guess a property developer could be equally guilty of such a wild propagandistic distortion of the facts, well some anyway. 24.7.91.244 22:04, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Needs very heavy editing or deleting

I have added fact tags((Fact|date=September 2007)) to all the parts of this article that may be biased and not be true at all, or show lack of balance in spin doctoring. Could an editor more familiar with the subject matter render judgement and cite what can be reasonably sourced (or believed) and delete what can't. Sadly this article has had a dearth of neutral editors. 24.7.91.244 22:24, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
