Parsons High School is well noted for its excellence in a variety of sports, especially in boy's and girl's tennis, and basketball.

Parsons High School is also well noted for its excellence in debate and forensics. In 1990, PHS became the only school to to have two students (Ajit Pai and Michael Monninger) in the top four National NFL point leaders in the same year. For several years, PHS also lead the nation in most NFL All-Americans produced, and the school is consistently represented at the NFL national tournament.
