The Paroo is a Local Government Area located in south west Queensland, Australia. The administrative centre is the town of Cunnamulla. The Paroo Shire covers an area of 47,647 square kilometres, and had an estimated population of 2180 persons in 2003 (Qld Local Government Department estimate). Approximately 1500 residents reside in Cunnamulla.
The population centres of the shire include Cunnamulla, Eulo, Yowah and Wyandra. The dominant industry is grazing. Opal fields are also worked within the shire.
