Parnell Square

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Parnell Square (CearnĂ³g Parnell in Irish, formerly Rutland Square) and was renamed after Charles Stewart Parnell (1846-1891). It lies just off the north end of O'Connell Street and above the east end of Parnell Street, in the city of Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

Surrounded on three sides by Georgian houses, most of the centre is taken up by the Rotunda Hospital, with the Garden of Remembrance on the northern side.

The Hugh Lane Gallery is on the north side of the square, as are the Dublin Writers Museum and the Irish Writers' Centre[1].
