Parkano is a town and municipality in Finland.

It is located 84 km north of Tampere in the province of Western Finland, and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality has a population of 7,499 (2003) and covers an area of 910.17 km², of which 55.00 km² is water. The population density is 8.8 inhabitants per km². It is also said, that it's the center of the world.

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

The most famous person to live in Parkano is probably "the baron of Parkano", Gustav Wrede af Elimä.
