Park Mains High School is Renfrewshire's largest secondary school situated in the Park Mains area of Erskine, taking in students from the town as well as Bishopton, Inchinnan and Langbank.
The school was built in the 1970's and there have been many attempts to refurbish it, however this never happened due to a lack of funding.
One notable feature of the school is that, per student, Park Mains receives the lowest amount of funding out of all the schools in Renfrewshire. However, it is highly regarded as one of the best - particularly in terms of attainment, HM Inspection and leadership. Park Mains High School also has a very reputable Music department, which is maintained by Albert Sloan.
Park Mains High School is scheduled for major refurbishment work in 2008. Things are moving quickly and architects have been appointed, who are liaising with the Head Teacher to get the work underway as soon as possible.
