From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Park Foothills neighborhood is the area between Hercules and Hondo Pass, and above U.S. 54. It extends to Mount Ridge Street and as far south as Atlas Street. It is located at the foot of the Franklin Mountains, providing an explanation for part of the neighborhood's name. Within the neighborhood are the schools Edgar Park Elementary, and Canyon Hills Middle School. There is also a park located near the center of the neighborhood known as Sunrise Park. The neighborhood has seen slow growth in the past, but has started to see more growth as the new soldiers relocated to Ft. Bliss arrive in the coming years. The houses in the neighborhood feed into Chapin High School. It is located in Northeast El Paso.[1] This neighborhood is made up of mostly houses and apartments, with a few convenience stores scattered throughout the area. As of recent years a small mini-mall has been developed, but the condition of the mini-mall varies. Also there are depot stores along the freeway or eastern portion of the neighborhood. Residents have been urged to get more involved in their neighborhood as an association was created that encompasses the Park Foothills neighborhood and several surrounding neighborhoods.
