Parent Profile

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Parent Profiles are documents (both online and paper) that outline information about possible adoptive families for a birth-mothers child. This service is usually provided by an adoption agency and individuals that help write Dear Birthmom letters. They include information about where a potential family lives, works, and what they do for enjoyment. They are designed to help a birth-mother narrow her search for who she feels will be the best parent for her child.

A parent profile remains at the adoption agency, so birth-mothers can review them and tell the agency who they would be interested in as an adoptive family for the child. Parent profiles that are online usually provide a means for birth-mothers to contact the adoption agency or lawyer representing the family.
