Parathode is a village in the Idukki district of Kerala state in India. Located in a valley surrounded by huge hills. The name of the place comes from the Malayalam words "Para" and "Thode". Here, "Para" means rock and "Thode" means small river (creek).
Nearby places are Pullukandom, Panikkankudi, Kambilikandom, Muniyara, Konnathadi etc.
To reach here, one has to travel 18 kilometers from Adimali. It takes almost 45 minutes to reach there by public transport (Bus). The route is through Kallarkutty. At Kallarkutty, one has to travel over the dam. During rainy seasons, it is a spectacular scene to see the water rushing out of the dam.
