Parasia at present, a township of about 60,000 in population, is situated in the valley of Pench River in Chhindwara district, which is known for its coalfields. There are several open cast and underground coal mines surrounding the vicinity.

As of 2001 India census[1], Parasia had a population of 60000. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Parasia has an average literacy rate of 89%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 90%. In Parasia, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. that place contain the lot of coal mines.The nearest river is PENCH.
