Parallax Press

Parallax Press is an independent publishing house based in Berkeley, California.
Founded in 1986, following a suggestion by Vietnamese Zen teacher and poet Thich Nhat Hanh, Parallax Press is the publishing division of Unified Buddhist Church, Inc. The name is derived from the Greek word meaning "to change" and conveys that when you look at things from a different perspective, they appear differently. Its books appear in multiple translations, and are distributed by Publishers Group West in the United States.
Parallax publishes books and tapes on socially Engaged Buddhism and mindful living for beginners, experienced practitioners, children, and families. The company is Thich Nhat Hanh's core publisher and carries all of his books. In addition, Parallax publishes books by Robert Aitken, Stephen Batchelor, Maha Ghosananda, Sister Chan Khong, H.H. the Dalai Lama, Joanna Macy, Sulak Sivaraksa, Mitsu Suzuki, Alan Hunt Badiner, and many others.
