Paraguayan-Taiwanese relations are foreign relations between Paraguay and the Republic of China (Taiwan). Both countries established diplomatic relations on July 8, 1957. Paraguay one of the few country in the world (and the only one in South America) to recognizes the Republic of China on Taiwan instead of the People's Republic of China. Paraguay has an embassy in Taipei. Taiwan has an embassy in Asuncion and a Consulates-General in Ciudad del Este. There are around 20,000 people of Chinese descent living in Paraguay, whose ancestors came during the first half of the 20th century.
