Paraestra Tokyo is a mixed martial arts fighting team and gym based in Tokyo, Japan. The gym was founded by former Shooto welterweight champion, and Vale Tudo Japan competitor Yuki Nakai, who after his defeat to Rickson Gracie decided to learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Today, Paraestra endorses both Shooto, and Jiu-Jitsu and contains many gyms throughout Japan.
Current fighters on the team include Shooto Middleweight Champion and DREAM Competitor Shinya Aoki, and Shooto Featherweight Champion Masakatsu Ueda.
In addition to training fighters, the gym offers classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Shooto.
In June, 2008 Yusuke Honna of Paraestra obtained a silver medal in the Black Belt Roosterweight Division of the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship, the most infamous Jiu-Jitsu tournament in the world. The event was held in the USA
