In the fictional universe of Mobile Suit Gundam, Captain Paolo Cassius, was the plank owner captain of the Earth Federation mobile suit carrier White Base. Mortally wounded during the Zeon attack on Side 7, he died a few days later, command passing to Ensign Bright Noa. Despite dying with injury, his personal plea to Luna II had given the White Base crew a much-needed resupply. Shortly after his death, he was given a military funeral, and his body was committed to the sea of space.
