[edit] Notability

Erm, there's no way this article falls under A7. Notability has been asserted, as they're signed to a major hip hop label.

But if you're still in the mood for testing WP:MUSIC, here's a list of reliable sources:

Anyway, all this not to mention that they're on a full US tour right now. If this group doesn't meet WP:MUSIC, I don't know what does. Rockstar (T/C) 16:52, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

If these references were in the article (instead of just links to the subject's website and their MySpace page), then it would not have been tagged with {{db-band}}. —68.239.79.97 (talk · contribs) 17:14, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
Wrong. A7 is about asserting notability. The article asserted notability, namely being signed to a major label. A7 therefore does not qualify. You are correct, though -- the article as it stood would have failed WP:MUSIC, but if you read WP:MUSIC, failing to fulfill it does not qualify as a speedy delete. How can Rawkus Records be considered "a major label" with only 3 current artists? (I don't think that Marco Polo is currently signed with them, unless that was supposed to be Marco Polo (rapper) as listed on the disambiguation page.) —68.239.79.97 19:10, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
Um... have you looked at their history and release history? It's a major hip hop label. Rockstar (T/C) 19:14, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
Furthermore, I just added references that make it totally fulfill WP:MUSIC. You really should read up on the criteria for speedy deletion and realize that an article being unreferenced and not fulfill WP:N is not sufficient reason for speedy delete it. If it asserts notability -- if it says "Bob Geepers is a rock singer signed to Dingledorm Records" then notability has been asserted, even if neither exists. Period. Read that essay I sent you too, hopefully it will make you less confused. Rockstar (T/C) 19:32, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

I have removed the speedy tag, as this article is not a CSD candidate. Take it to WP:AFD. Natalie 22:37, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

I don't even see the need for that -- it blatantly fulfills WP:MUSIC as it stands. But if someone wants to AfD it so be it, it'll just come out as keep. Thanks for removing the CSD tag, by the way. Rockstar (T/C) 01:02, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
