Pantelimon, Ilfov

Pantelimon (population: 16,019) is a city in Ilfov county, Romania. The town — bordered by the Romanian capital, Bucharest, to the west — has an area of 134.83 km². Its name is derived from the Greek saint Panteleimon.

The town's population, according to the 2002 census, was 16,019 persons, 94.1% of which where ethnic Romanians, 5.6% Roma, and 0.2% Hungarians.[1]

Pantelimon is linked with Bucharest's public transport network, run by RATB. It is also the location of the Pantelimon metro station, which is the eastern starting point of the Bucharest Metro's M1 and M3 lines. And a maxi-taxi line from Obor market (Bucuresti) to Pantelimon range

There is a beer factory in Pantelimon, owned by the United Romanian Breweries — producer of the Carlsberg and Tuborg beer brands.
