Pantai Remis

Pantai Remis is a coastal town in Perak, Malaysia. It is situated near Sitiawan. Fishing is a major industry in this town. Being so close to the sea, it is famed for its seafood. The town was founded some 60 years ago. The name probably derived from a type of Sea shell - Remis, whis is greyish shell is easy crushed. Lies in the estuary of Bruas River, it is believed that the once prosperous Hindu Kingdom - Gangga Negara's Ports entry point was here. The Bruas tree which no long found in Bruas town is still grong in Pengkalan Bahru, a sleepy village 5 km from Pantai Remis.
