Pansori gosu

Gosu is a drummer in pansori performances. He supports the sorikkun, the singer, by giving rhythms with a soribuk (pansori drum), which is made out of pine tree and cowhide. Impromptu short verbal sounds made by the gosu, chu-imsae, also play an important role.
