Panniyannur is a census town in Kannur district in the Indian state of Kerala.

As of 2001 India census[1], Panniyannur had a population of 20,860. Males constitute 46% of the population and females 54%. Panniyannur has an average literacy rate of 86%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 86%, and female literacy is 85%.
