Pannaipuram is a panchayat town in Theni district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

As of 2001 India census[1], Pannaipuram had a population of 8924. Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Pannaipuram has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 74%, and female literacy is 56%. In Pannaipuram, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Panaipuram is birth place of the most famous music director Ilaiaraja. Ilaiyaraaja (help·info) (Tamil: இைளயராஜா, IPA: [ɪləjəɹɑːdʒɑː]) (born June 2, 1943 as Gnanadesikan) is an Indian film composer, singer, and lyricist. He has composed over 4,000 songs and provided background music for more than 800 Indian films in various languages in a career spanning 30 years.[1][2] He is based in Chennai, India.
